Aenigmata

Edward Nesbit and Thomas Hodgson were colleagues in the Music Department at King’s College London, and they initiated a musical collaboration soon after the first lockdown began. Called ‘Aenigmata’, the project draws upon Latin riddles by St Aldhelm to create a commentary on the new, uncertain world that we all live in.

An introduction to Edward’s opera Antigone, commissioned by Queen Mary University of London, King’s College London and East London Music Group.

Edward speaks to the London Sinfonietta about his Viola Concerto, as well as his musical interests and influences.

Edward talks about Lament, his May 2020 commission from East London Music Group.

Laura L’Aimable interviews Edward and his collaborator Dr Thomas Hodgson about Acalantida, a collaborative musical project created in lockdown during the COVID-19 crisis with countertenor Michael Wood.

Edward and his fellow LSO Panufnik Young Composers, Andrew McCormack and Vlad Maistorovici, talk about their experiences with the LSO, and the release of The Panufnik Legacies which features new works by ten composers from the LSO’s Panufnik Composer’s Scheme.
